The Streets Art Project Returns To Tooting

The Streets Art Project

The Streets returns to Tooting this weekend, with two days of performances, workshops and parades.

Now in the second year of a two-year project, The Streets aims to reignite the full potential of the high street and give local people the chance to see and take part in something new.

The event has been brought to seven London boroughs by live music and event producer Serious. In Wandsworth it is working in partnership with Enable’s Arts Team and Tooting Town Centre businesses.

Tooting highlights include events and performances from established artists alongside community choirs, street performers and local musicians.

Saturday 23 July
Choir Clock features performances on the hour from 10am to 8pm across the high street. These include home grown talent, beatboxers Maverick + Malachi, The Great Gustos and World Heartbeat Music Academy, alongside acts such as House Gospel Choir, The Spinettes and London Vocal Project. Family singing workshops are at Tooting Library.

Sunday 24 July
Tooting’s Summer Street Party on Cowick Road from 12 to 4pm with Street Song stage performances brought by Serious and local food and drink, salsa rueda, hula hooping, and magic. Join in a mass sing with Blossom Street at 2.20pm
